The public is expected to become more confident that the nation’s finances are well managed and optimized to provide the best service to all Indonesians.

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati expressed hope that the Unqualified Opinion (WTP) obtained from the Supreme Control Agency (BPK) on the Central Government Finance Report 2020 (LKPP) can further build public confidence.

“The public is expected to become more confident that the nation’s finances are well managed and optimized to provide the best service to all Indonesians,” she said in a meeting with the House of Representatives (DPR) Budget Agency (Banggar) here Monday.

However, she did not deny that there is still room for improvement that needs to be considered as Indonesia’s BPK provided notes and recommendations.

“Whether this is conveyed by the LKPP inspection result report or by several BPK examination result reports regarding fiscal transparency, fiscal continuity and fiscal independence of the regional government,” said Indrawati.

To this end, the government undertakes to follow up on the BPK’s recommendation as best it can and in accordance with the regulations so that the quality of the management of the state budget can be preserved today and in the future. future, she added.

The CAP is the end result of all extraordinary efforts to maintain the state’s fiscal responsibility amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the minister noted.

As the country’s revenues drop drastically, state spending is instead increasing to fulfill the state’s obligation to protect all Indonesian citizens, she said.

“Not only in terms of health, but also in terms of economy due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic,” she said.

The unqualified opinion on LKPP 2020 is the fifth that the central government has received since 2016.
